One of the show gardens this year was inspired by something as simple ā and powerful ā as seed disposal. The idea? That a seed only flourishes when it lands in the right environment.
It made me reflect on the children we work with.
Not all of them find themselves in the āperfect soilā to grow. Some face challenges in their home lives, their communities, or even their sense of self ā yet they still have the same potential as any other child.
So hereās the question Iāve been sitting with this week:
How do we, as professionals ā educators, coaches, mentors ā create pockets of fertile ground wherever we are?
Whether itās through:
šæ A consistent relationship
šæ A calm classroom
šæ A safe space to talk
šæ A moment of being seen and heard
Every positive interaction can be a ray of sunlight, a drop of water, or a bit of nourishment that helps a child flourish ā even when the wider environment may not yet be ideal.
Because every child, like every seed, carries something incredible inside.
