This week includes Blue Monday which is often labelled the “most difficult day of the year”.
Whether or not we agree with the title, many young people (and adults) do experience this time of year as difficult: back to routine, darker days, rising expectations and emotional fatigue.
In my coaching and mentoring work, I see how powerful it is when young people are given:
• space to talk
• tools to understand their emotions
• support to rebuild confidence and motivation
Emotional wellbeing isn’t about fixing everything at once. It’s about helping young people feel heard, supported and capable of coping, one step at a time.
If your school or service is supporting pupils who are finding this part of the term hard, I offer strengths-based, trauma-informed coaching that complements education and pastoral care.
Small conversations can make a big difference this week.
