With Diwali today and half term starting for many, I’ve been reflecting on how both offer an opportunity for pause, renewal, and hope.
Diwali reminds us that light can overcome darkness and that even in challenging times, small sparks of positivity can make a difference. For many young people, this message feels particularly relevant right now. As the first half of the academic year closes, I see so many struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, and exhaustion — yet also showing incredible resilience and growth.
Half term provides a valuable moment to reset — to step back, take a breath, and acknowledge progress rather than perfection.
In my work as a coach and mentor for young people, I help them build confidence, self-awareness, and emotional tools to manage these pressures — so that their light can continue to shine long after the break is over.
Wishing everyone a restorative half term and a Diwali filled with warmth, light, and renewal.
