Today, as many celebrate Fatherās Day, Iām reminded of the complex emotions this day can stir for the young people I support through trauma-informed coaching.
For some, this day brings connection, warmth, and memories.
For others, it may highlight absence, loss, separation, or even conflicted emotions ā feelings that donāt always fit neatly into a card or celebration.
In coaching, we help children and young people explore and name what they feel ā without pressure to make it āpositive.ā
We offer a safe space to recognise their unique stories, build emotional literacy, and develop strategies to feel heard, regulated, and resilient, especially on days that amplify big feelings.
š¬ If you’re working with young people today, take a moment to hold space for the full range of experiences around Fatherās Day ā and all the feelings it may bring.
