In the UK this weekend, we commemorate Guy Fawkes failure to blow up Parliament on 5th November 1605 (often also referred to as Bonfire Night). What other times would we celebrate a failure?
Sadly, for many of our trauma experienced children, a sense of failure often dominates, thinking that somehow they are to blame for their experiences and are not worthy of success in their life.
This week, leading up to 5th November, let us all have an even greater focus on how we can raise children’s self-esteem. Let us use meaningful words of encouragement, praise and empowerment and see how each child literally grows just a little bit taller.
