Put On Your Own Mask First

I was lucky enough to be taken away for my birthday last week. At take-off we listened to the usual safety information including, “Put your own mask on first before helping others”.
We use this phrase so often in everyday life and during Mental Health Week it is more relevant than ever. To ensure you have continued strength, resilience and energy to support your young people’s mental health, have you done at least one thing this week to support your own wellbeing?
*Take a short walk or stretch – even 10 minutes can help our mental health.
* Step outside if you can: listen to the birds singing or focus on a single flower or plant, noticing all its amazing intricacies.
*Take a mindful minute and focus on your breath to centre yourself.
