Happy half term to all the teachers who are enjoying, or about to enjoy, a week or two’s break from the classroom.
The first half term can be hard; getting to grips with all the different personalities in the class. Experience tells me that there will be at least one child who is causing you sleepless nights as you contemplate what else you can possibly do to help them be successful in the classroom whilst ensuring the rest of the class can also learn effectively.
Over time, I have learned so much about being trauma aware and have seen first hand the impact that trauma informed practice has on every child in the class. Trauma informed strategies work!
